On Friday, November 1st, Mrs. Janak was able to schedule Texas A&M Forest Service Forester to come to our school and give a presentation. MISD was one of twenty-five schools or organizations selected in the south region! The group did a great job of explaining to students why Arbor Day is a holiday, why Texas has a different Arbor Day than much of the country, and all about a tree's life cycle.
Elementary students from grades three through six attended the presentation and a select few were part of the planting of a tree on our school grounds.
Thank you, Mrs. Janak, for arranging for this wonderful learning opportunity for MISD students!
