Clifton Miller tells MISD that he married a local lady named Ethel Technik, in 1965, and was a sergeant with the Moulton Police Department. He and his wife suffered the loss of their son, Mike Miller, in 2004. Mike worked for Moulton Products, locally.
Mr. Miller spent all of his working years in the credit collection industry. While living in Portland, Texas, he had the pleasure of serving on the Board of Directors of San Patricio County Credit Union and was also a member of the Chamber of Commerce. He served as the president of the Kiwanis Club in Corpus Christi as well.
He had the opportunity to join two neighbors to create a soccer team. With a small amount of money and lots of hours, they had their first day of sign up, hoping to see at least seventy-five registrants. At the end of the day, two hundred fifty kids were members! That association is alive and well today!
Mr. Miller also had the pleasure of serving on the Board of Lavaca Country Crime Stoppers and was the president four of those years.
He is now loving the quiet life in the country of Lavaca County.
Elizabeth Smolik was born in Moulton and was raised within its city limits, along with a commitment to community involvement and service. After an active youth, Elizabeth graduated from MHS as a proud member of the class of 2007. She continued her education at Texas State University, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2012 before completing a Master of Accountancy degree in 2015.
After residing in Austin for a few years, Elizabeth returned home where she has continued to be an involved member of the community, devoting her time and passions to numerous organizations in the area.
She has been employed by the State of Texas for almost 12 years and currently works as an Accounts Payable Lead at TxDOT.
Keeping Christ and family at the forefront of her daily life, Elizabeth pours a servant's heart into all she does, working for the betterment of not just those who call her friend, but even those who are simple acquaintances. She knows no stranger, and is an activist for our youth. She wears many hats, all while advocating for the support and improvement of our town.
She is a devoted wife to Scott, and mother to her children; Claire, Adelyn, and Owen who all attend Moulton Elementary (or will, in a few short years.)
When not busy in the aforementioned activities, you can find Elizabeth helping out with the MISD PTO, in her garden carefully tending to her beautiful vegetables and flowers or enjoying an outing with her family. She is prepared and eager to begin her chapter with the MISD school board and looks forward to championing the district into the future.
