At the school board meeting on February 12 ,2025, the principals awarded their Katz and Kittens Award of Excellence to students and staff members. Victoria Ortiz presented the student award to Rena Pierce and the staff award to Julie Alaniz. Penny Irwin presented the student awards to Hailey Rothbauer, Madison Raab, and Madison McLaughlin for their entries in the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Art Program. The staff award went to Dorothy McLaughlin. Both principals expressed their admiration and appreciation for these outstanding staff members and students. MISD is so very lucky to have them!
